Mental health admissions

The Nurse Unit manager of the Dixon Unit Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Unit can be contacted during business hours for information relating to admissions.

A GP or a psychiatrist referral is required.  Prior to admission a health fund check will be undertaken and you will be contacted as to any outstanding costs.  You will be admitted under the treatment and care of a Consultant Psychiatrist for the duration of your admission.

Enquiries are taken outside business hours and you will be contacted on the next business day.  A patient information brochure is available as to what to bring into hospital, the hospital rules and expectations, and a summary of the patient agreement.
