Day surgery admissions

For day surgery admission, please complete the pre-admission form and forward it to the hospital as soon as possible.  A member of the nursing staff will contact you in the days prior to your procedure concerning your medical history.  This will provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.  Administration staff will contact you in this period of time regarding health fund details.

On the day of admission, ensure you bring your health fund details, Pensioner Health Benefits, and Pharmaceutical Benefits Concession card to present at reception.

It is advisable to leave all jewellery and valuables at home.  Do not wear make-up or nail polish.  Please bring in any test results you have had done in relation to your procedure.  If you are on multiple medications, a list of these is helpful and if you are on routine medications for high blood pressure, take these as normal with a small sip of water.

On arrival, please visit our main reception staff, which will process your paperwork then escort you to the day surgery area.  Your carer may stay with you during admission process and waiting period.  Nursing staff will advise carers were they could wait whilst you are having your procedure.  Surgery time may vary due to unexpected delays.
