Nepean Private Hospital nudges top - Penrith Star, 19 May 2011
NEPEAN Private Hospital has been ranked second among NSW private hospitals for its treatment of maternity patients. The Medibank Private survey put five questions to 2151 women having babies in 66 Australian private hospitals. The questions covered such topics as what information the hospitals gave patients about their services and about post-natal care.

Staff dab hands at hygiene - Penrith Press, 17 May 2011
NEPEAN Private Hospital had the upper hand over bacteria as part of its World Hand Hygiene Day activities. Staff took part in hand hygiene training, ran a competition and also ate hand-shaped biscuits. Infection control co-ordinator Helen Scott said it was the first time she had seen the hospital become so involved in the event since she started her role a year ago.

New Year's delight for Warrimoo couple: early birth - Penrith City Star, 5 January 2011
THE sun was shining, sand burning and surf sparkling. Along came the midnight fireworks and with the extended family by their side on a central coast getaway, Kirsty and Pete Randall began the new year perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that the couple’s unborn child refused to miss another second of the action. Mrs Randall went into unexpected labour in the early hours of New Year’s Day and endured a frantic race back to Penrith where she gave birth to a healthy son, Thomas George Pierre Randall, at 12.34pm. At 3.7 kilos, he was the first baby born at Nepean Private Hospital in 2011.

Christmas gift for East Blaxland couple- Blue Mountains Gazette, 5 January 2011
East Blaxland couple Hifa and Melissa Flexman received the best Christmas present imaginable on December 25 — the birth of their first child.
Little Christian came into the world at 7.23am at Nepean Private Hospital’s maternity unit, three days later than expected. “He was due on December 22 and so we thought it was just going to be a normal Christmas Day for us, but that went out the window,” Melissa said, beaming. “I had a natural birth and was in labour for over 24 hours and Christian happened to arrive on Christmas morning. “The hospital staff and obstetrician Dr Pardey were awesome, we had the unit to ourselves and they even had Christmas presents for us.

Cleaning up on Daffodil Day at Nepean Private Hospital - Penrith Press, 2 September 2010
MANAGEMENT at Nepean Private Hospital worked as slaves at their staff’s bidding to raise funds for the Cancer Council on Friday. The hospital - an enthusiastic supporter of charity events throughout the year - raised hundreds of dollars, with staff donating money to “hire” their management as slaves for the day.

New theatres ease the pain of waiting - Penrith Press, 8 June 2010
TWO opertaing theatres are being built at Nepean Private Hospital to lift the ceiling on elective surgery demand. They will come with state-of-the-art equipment and a day surgery recovery area. General Manager Helen Lonergan said demand for surgeries had brought the six remaining theatres to capacity.

Med students go private
Nepean Private Hospital is now a teaching arm on the University of Sydney. Medical students from Sydney Medical School Nepean will be able to go to Nepean Private Hospital as part of their four-year training to become doctors.
