HPS Pharmacies is proud to be associated with Hobart Private Hospital in the provision of pharmacy services to the Hospital.

Some over the counter items are available, please ask.

HEALTH FUNDS
All health funds have differing levels of funding for the provision of pharmacy supplies during your stay in hospital.

At the very least, your health fund will provide your medications, which are used as a result of your stay in hospital within your bed fee allowance.

Some health funds will not pay for medications which you may be taking prior to admission to hospital should you wish to have them renewed or replaced during your stay. You may wish to bring your medications and prescriptions from home to avoid this extra cost. This does not apply to new medications prescribed while you are in hospital e.g. antibiotics.

Likewise some health funds may not pay for your discharge medications – please check with your fund. As a result of this and the understanding that all health funds have differing rules, you may receive an account from HPS Pharmacies for some of your medications.

INFORMATION FOR VETERANS
The Department of Veteran Affairs will pay for all medications provided to veterans during their stay and upon discharge.

YOUR HPS PHARMACIES ACCOUNT
HPS Pharmacies will attempt to give you your account before your discharge from Hospital so that you may discuss your medications with the Pharmacist In-Charge before leaving the Hospital.
