Graduate Nurse Program

The aims of the Healthscope Graduate Nurse Program:

  • Recognising and incorporating individual learning needs and personal attributes into a responsive supported education program. 
  • Facilitating the transition from student to registered nurse/enrolled nurse in a supportive clinical environment, utilising clinical teachers, peer support and preceptorship.
  • Providing clinical rotations to enable exposure to a variety of clinical situations and environments.
  • Providing documented evidence of each graduate nurse’s clinical experience as part of their professional portfolio of development.

Application Process

You will be required to submit the following documents:

  • Letter of application including reasons why you want to join our hospital and program.
  • Curriculum Vitae including two referees. One referee must be a clinical teacher, preceptor or other senior nurse that you have reported to in a clinical placement. 
  • Signe academic transcripts with a result legend attached.
  • Signed copies of two recent clinical placements from an acute care setting.

Opportunities to enrol in the Allamanda Hospital Graduate Nurse Program are as follows:

  • February intake- applications open 1st August and close 31 August of the preceding year. Successful applicants will be notified and interviewed during the month of October.
  • September intake – applications open 01 March and close 31 March of the preceding year. Successful applicants will be notified and interviewed during the month of June.

Healthscope and Allamanda Private Hosptial has a commitment to employing overseas trained nurses. Position Vacancies are advertised on www.seek.com

We invite applications from nurses that have or are processing registration for the State of Queensland. Visa application suppport is provided through Healthscope Corporate Office. 


Peri-operative Nurse Progarm


The program is designed for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurse wanting move into a new area of nursing.

The program is offered once a year. The program commences in February and concludes in November . Applications for the program are advertised on www.seek.com and open on 01 August with a closing date of 31 August (in the preceding year).

The program is a multi-centred course and requires participants to be flexible and willing to travel within South East Queensland to other Healthscope facilities. Applicants need to be self motivated and prepared to complete assignments and assessments.

The program is affiliated with the Australian Catholic University – completing module 1 & 2 will give you 20 credit points towards your postgraduate certificate in Peri-operative Nursing (Registered Nurses only).

The program is conducted in two modules:

  • Module 1 – 12 week novice program
  • Module 2 – 22 weeks post – graduate program
