Substance withdrawal
The program aims to assist a process of recovery from substance dependence and offers help with the physical, emotional, relational and spiritual dimensions of addiction. The program is designed to enable participants to develop a comprehensive plan to maintain their recovery on discharge. Patients need to demonstrate a commitment to working toward personal change and be willing to participate in groups.

The treatment program consists of:
  • Medically supervised safe withdrawal
  • Counselling to deal with issues underlying alcohol or other drug use
  • Prescription of anti-craving medication
  • Health education and life skills
  • Daily exercise program
  • Stress management and relaxation
  • Development of coping skill and relapse prevention strategies
  • Dealing with anxiety and depression
  • Addressing relationship issues which may impact on recovery
The Day Programs include:
  • Addictive Behaviours
  • Life Strategies 
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Creative Art and Narrative Therapy

Rehabilitation
An inpatient rehabilitation program offers patients an opportunity for recovery from addiction through a range of psycho-social education and group processes. The program is designed to: 
  • Meet the individual needs of each patient 
  • Provide clients with the principles of recovery and how to set realistic goals 
  • Facilitate change and develop better patterns of behaviour 
  • Establish a support system for a lifestyle of sobriety and freedom from addiction 
  • Increase self awareness, self acceptance and self respect 
  • Develop communication styles to promote personal growth 
  • Help clients to develop new skills and ways of coping 
  • Give clients the time they need to understand, accept and put into perspective the issues in their lives and develop new ways of thinking 
  • Improve clients’ motivation 
  • Teach relapse prevention techniques 
After discharge, the Outreach Program provides mental health treatment through individual visits conducted in the home or community.

What are the costs?
Private health insurance is recommended. Funding may be provided by other agencies such as Workcover insurers (WC), Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). Self funded clients are also welcome.
