Day Programs at The Melbourne Clinic offer treatment through evidence based group sessions, facilitated by qualified multidisciplinary mental health professionals. Some of the programs available include:

Life Strategies Program: Designed for individuals diagnosed with a range of psychiatric conditions. Individuals participate in psychotherapeutic, psycho educational and experiential groups, eg. Managing depression & anxiety, healthy living, relationships, self-esteem building, etc. (Request a copy of our current Life Strategies Program Timetable)

Acceptance and Commitment Program: A 10 week life skills program for people diagnosed with a mood &/or anxiety disorder. ACT enables people to become more psychologically flexible in living a meaningful life.

Addictive Behaviours Program:  Offers ongoing support group and outpatient treatment program for people who experience problems with addiction. The program is based on the Relapse Prevention and Harm Minimization models. 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety and Depression: A 16-week program divided into four modules offering an introduction to CBT in a group setting. The focus will be on developing personal projects that are designed to help people with depression become more active and improve their mood.

Creative Arts/Narrative Therapy Program: Is a unique combination of empowering client centred therapies utilising creative expression as a commencement point for therapeutic exploration.  It aims to reacquaint clients with their strengths & inner resources. No artistic talent is required.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Program:  A skill-based therapy for people with traits or a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder with emotional dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties and impulsive, suicidal and self-harm behaviour.

Eating Disorders Program: The program is designed to promote recovery of physical and emotional well being in a supportive environment.

ACT Skillfully: Bulimia and Binge Eating Recovery Group using ACT and DBT: This program aims to support people recovering from bulimia and binge eating. For more information, click here.

Managing Bi-Polar Disorder:  A 12-week group program. The program provides information and skills to assist people in the on-going effective management of their Bi-Polar disorder. It will help people to get the most out of their life despite the disorder. 

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy: Structured 8-session program is designed for clients with mood or anxiety disorders. MBCT assists people in developing a mindful acceptance and acknowledgement of feelings, sensations and thoughts.

Recovery of Self Esteem: Structured 10-week program is designed for individuals suffering from low self-esteem and relationship issues. The program is designed to assist individuals in defining and exploring an understanding of self-esteem, healthy relationships with themselves and others.

Stress and Anxiety Management : Skills based group program that helps individuals manage the symptoms of anxiety using a range of psychological techniques that have been demonstrated to be effective. These include managing physical sensations of anxiety; awareness of unhelpful thinking patterns and techniques to change them; exposure to situations associated with anxiety and relapse prevention.

Gambling - "Let's Talk Gambling-Bet on Change"
The program is designed for individuals, experiencing gambling related problems. The group is open and on-going, facilitated on Monday evenings from 4.30 onwards. The program will assist participants in understanding addiction theories and models, reflecting on different type of gambling; exploring changing behaviours, working with ambivalence, identifying strengths and resources, connecting with goals and values to live meaningful life.
