We expect all our staff to provide the highest standards of care for our patients, and this means getting the fundamentals right too.  From the moment they enter our facility, all patients are treated with dignity and respect as well as receiving the best possible care.  All requests are paramount and we will endeavour to comply with your needs.

The Melbourne Clinic is an accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care.

Accreditation

Whilst The Melbourne Clinic provides a comprehensive range of general and specialty In-patient (152 beds), Day Program and Outreach services to adults primarily from the metropolitan Melbourne area, it also provides services to patients from rural Victoria, inter-state and occasionally international adults requiring psychiatric care.

The Melbourne Clinic is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) who work with ACHS in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin their primary goal of providing the best quality of service and care.

The Melbourne Clinic continued from OWS 2007 a full four-year accreditation in July 2009, gaining nine (9) ratings of EA (Excellence). These were obtained in the areas of Consent Process; Comprehensive Health Record; Infection Control; Continuous Quality Improvement; Risk Management; Credentialing; Documented Policies; Safety Management Systems & Emergency and Disaster Management.

The next stage in The Melbourne Clinic Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EquIP) is the Organisation Wide Survey in 2011.

Current Quality Improvement Projects at The Melbourne Clinic include:

  • Review & modification of Quality Action Plan documentation
  • Review of medication dispensing (based on Patient Satisfaction Survey results)
  • Review & modification of monthly Quality Meeting (re. format & purpose)
