2011 GP Mental Health Education
Through ongoing collaboration between Melbourne & Melbourne East General Practice Networks, the Yarra - Boroondara Primary Mental Health Service and the Melbourne Clinic, the 2011 Mental Health Education Series is now open to registrations.
Participants can choose to attend one or more of the evening sessions or all of those in the series. The Series is as follows:
Tuesday 13th September 2011- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
Tuesday 8th September 2011- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Speaker: Julie Huntington- Julie completed her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in 2001 before moving to London where she worked in a street agency for substance abuse for about 4 years. Upon moving to Melbourne, Julie began working at The Melbourne Clinic in 2006. In February 2007, Julie completed the DBT Skills Training workshop, run by Mental health Australia & facilitated by staff from Behavioural Tech. She began working in the DBT program in 2007, conducting assessments, provision of individual therapy and facilitating group skills training before taking the role of DBT coordinator in 2008 where she also provided supervision to clinicians within the DBT team.
Speaker: Annie Sloss- Annie Is a therapist with 14 years experience in both individual and group therapy in the fields of Addiction, adolescent and adult mental health. Annie has been practicing Mindfulness meditation for fifteen years. She has been facilitating ACT therapy groups for the past three years and is currently ACT program co coordinator at the Melbourne Clinic. Annie also provides ACT training seminars for mental health professionals.
