Rehabilitation ServicesThe Hills Private Hospital's rehabilitation unit (North and South Wings) provide rehabilitation treatment services for people residing within The Hills district and surrounding areas. The 60-bed rehabilitation unit aims to offer a multi-level rehabilitation treatment program designed to cater for the various stages of patient care through inpatient and day patient service offerings. These specialised private treatment rehabilitation treatment services will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual patient with an emphasis on the continuum of care. They also draw upon best practice approaches derived from established evidence based programs that have demonstrated both clinical efficacy and satisfaction amongst its consumers. Our hydrotherapy pool is currently being built and will be completed in October 2010.
On admission, our nurse, doctor and therapists will assess you during your first two days. It is from these assessments that your rehabilitation program will be formulated. You will be involved in the planning of your program to ensure your rehabilitation goals are addressed.
The goals of the program are based on a reasonable expectation of improvement as assessed by the rehabilitation physician in conjunction with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Your goals for recovery are set and the program continues until established goals are achieved or your progress plateaus or you are able to manage at home and return to the Day Program for ongoing rehabilitation.
Inpatient Admission
Our admissions officer will require you to sign some documentation and forms necessary to claim from your health fund. If you are unable to sign, please make arrangements for a family member or carer to sign these for you. If your have any queries about your fund coverage, please speak to admissions staff
A qualified rehabilitation assessor or rehabilitation specialist will assess all patients and will discuss their treatment goals with them. They will ensure all patients receive the most appropriate form of rehabilitation at each stage of their recovery.
Day Patient Services
Rehabilitation day programs are suitable if you have established rehabilitation needs but do not need the support of inpatient medical or nursing care. You may have stayed with us as an inpatient or have been referred to one of our specialists from your general practioner.
Once we have received your written referral and we have completed the necessary documentation we will organise an initial assessment with your rehabilitation specialist and our therapists.
The length of your program and the type of therapies you will be undertaking will be determined at these initial assessments.

On the first day of your therapy, you will need to visit the Admissions Office located down the ramp and at the second entrance of the hospital. You will need to bring the following documentation with you:
You will then be shown to the day program area and a member of our day program team who will give you a tour of the facilities and amenities.
If you are unable to attend one of your therapy days please advise the day program coordinator as soon as possible. It is also important to attend all scheduled therapies, otherwise your health fund will not cover you for that day and you will be invoiced as an outpatient.
