The Hills Private Hospital’s mental health unit is a treatment service for people residing in The Hills district and surrounding areas.

Our 32-bed unit offers a multi-level psychiatric treatment program designed to cater for the various stages of patient care through inpatient and day patient services. These specialised psychiatric treatment services are tailored to meet the individual patient with an emphasis on continuum of care. They also draw upon best practice approaches derived from established evidence based programs that have demonstrated both clinical efficacy and satisfaction amongst its consumers.

This is a service providing specialised treatment for inpatients and day patients and delivered by a skilled team of professionals focussed on:

• Mood/anxiety stream (Cognitive Behavioural Approach) 
• Alcohol and other drugs (AOD) including intensive recovery 
• Life strategies stream (DBT program)

The Hills Private Hospital offers primary mental health treatment programs. Inpatient psychiatric services are available to patients who have experienced an acute exacerbation of their psychiatric illness and require a period of stabilization through admission to The Hills Private Hospital. Individually tailored treatment may involve a combination of medical, pharmacological and psychological therapy and rehabilitation.

Our therapeutic approach is based on personal responsibility, group therapy and empowerment. This is evident in our inpatient treatment programs where every patient is encouraged to take responsibility for all aspects of their health and wellbeing, depending on their capabilities. We believe that self-responsibility empowers the patient and ensures continued progress following discharge.
