Account Information

Newcastle Private Hospital is recognised by all major health funds that will reimburse treatment costs depending on your level of cover.  We can provide you with an estimate of hospital charges, an estimate of your fund rebate, as well as advice on any out of pocket expenses that you may incur for your treatment.
Newcastle Private Hospital is a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Partnering Hospital where you have access to help and support through our Veterans’ Affairs Liaison Officer.

If you do not hold private health insurance we are only too happy to provide you with a detailed estimate for your hospitalisation.

Fees that are charged by medical and allied health practitioners, which may include pharmacy and radiology, will be billed separately by the relevant provider.

We can accept any payment due by EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Bank Cheque, Money Order or Cash.  Unfortunately we do not accept personal or business cheques.

Account Settlement

If you have private health cover that includes hospital cover your hospital account can be forwarded directly to your health fund for assessment and payment.

Where there is a difference between your private health fund hospital cover benefit and the hospital charges we will send you an account for the remaining balance.

If you do not have private health cover we will prepare an estimate of costs which will be available when you visit the hospital to complete your registration. This amount must be paid on admission. Newcastle Private Hospital accepts all major credit cards.
