Visitor information
Car Parking is available in the visitors’ car park in Moreland Road. Disabled parking is also available.
Regular bus services operate along Moreland Road, the nearest train station is Moreland Station on the Upfield line, and is a short walk from the hospital. Trams run along Sydney Road and stop at the corner of Moreland Road. A taxi-phone is available in front reception for your convenience.
Patients can be contacted by calling the main hospital phone number on (03) 9385 2500 and stating the patient’s name. All patients have direct dial phones. We ask that mobile phones are switched off while in the hospital as they interfere with medical equipment.
Smoking is not permitted inside the hospital.
Visiting hours
To accommodate family and friends, visiting hours extend from 2.00pm to 8.00pm daily on the general wards. To promote healing, a quiet time extends from 12.30pm to 2.00pm. No telephone calls or visitors are requested during these time.
Please note that we permit two visitors only for each patient in the Critical Care Complex. Visitors to these areas are asked to speak to a nurse before visiting patients. In both the Critical Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit there is a rest period between 1.00pm to 3.00pm, during this time there are no visitors unless the nurse in charge has authorised such visits.
