We provide a comprehensive Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Service. Rehabilitation is the restoration of a person’s ability to function as efficiently and independently as your condition will permit following injury, illness or accident.

With a dedicated multi-disciplinary team delivering treatment as well as education and training they aim to generate an atmosphere of activity and optimism where you can achieve the best possible outcome.

The team consists of Rehabilitation Specialists, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, Speech Pathologist and Psychologist. An onsite Hydrotherapy Pool and fully equipped gymnasium is available for both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.

Facilities

The 35 bed Rehabilitation Unit houses the latest equipment and facilities that allow patients to undertake their programs in a safe, secure and private environment. A fully equipped gymnasium and hydrotherapy pool are available on-site for strength, conditioning and retraining programs.

The unit also has a range of assessment and counselling rooms where patients can meet with doctors and therapists in a quiet and private environment. Newcastle Private Hospital’s Rehabilitation Unit has an independent living suite which is designed to provide patients with the support and confidence required to make a successful transition from the hospital back into their home. The suite has double and single beds and includes a kitchenette where meals can be prepared and cooking assessments are carried out. The facility is an important phase in our holistic approach to rehabilitation.

• Post-trauma injury (surgery or medical)

Staying at Newcastle Private Hospital Rehabilitation Unit

The single and double patient rooms are conveniently equipped with ensuite facilities. The rooms overlook a picturesque bushland setting that provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for those undertaking rehabilitation programs. Patients and visitors have access to the large dining and day room facilities. The dining area seats up to 30 people and includes tea and coffee making facilities and a lounge area. The rooms are also used by our occupational therapists for group rehabilitation sessions.
