Accreditation
Hobart Private Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care.
Hobart Private Hospital received a full four-year accreditation in September 2008, gaining an EA (Excellence) in Infection Control, and commendations for clinical care and safety, the culture of risk management, workplace relations and staff injury management. The next scheduled ACHS survey is a Periodic Review in July 2010.
Hobart Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. The Hospital has developed, and continually reviews, its Quality Action Plan in order to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:
- Development and implementation of an early discharge scheme, and development of a step down program, for Maternity patients.
- Expansion of the Preadmission Clinic Service for elective surgical patients.
- Consumer representation in Hospital activities and evaluation processes.
- Increasing patient involvement in planning the care provided by all health team members.
