Inpatient Surgical Unit
The skilled staff of our Surgical Ward support a full range of specialities. Surgeons choose to use Geelong Private Hospital to care for their Orthopaedic, General Surgical, Urology, Gynaecology, Vascular, Plastic, Oral and Maxillofacial, and Ear Nose and Throat surgical patients because of our staff’s expertise. Our nursing staff maintain this expertise through regular education programs and a steady case load through the ward.
Acute Medical Unit
The Acute Medical team is focussed on providing optimal support to patients and their specialist Physicians when their medical condition requires an inpatient stay. This dedicated ward is configured to provide friendly and caring treatment with the aim of a safe and speedy return to home or other accommodation as the patient’s needs require.
The Acute Medical Unit is easily accessed via a tunnel from the Geelong Public Hospital Emergency Department, which provides patients and their families with a convenient choice to use their private health insurance and choose their own Physician even when they are acutely unwell. Most Physicians are happy to accept a private referral 24 hours a day, and can be contacted through Geelong Private Hospital switchboard if required.
