Accreditation

Cotham Private Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au). The ACHS work with us in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care to our patients.

Cotham Private Hospital received ongoing accreditation in September 2008. The next scheduled ACHS Organisational Wide Survey is due in June 2010.

The team found that Cotham Private Hospital was committed to the ongoing provision of quality health care, and collaboration was evident amongst managers at a senior level.

The following areas were commended at survey:

·          Admission to discharge process and tools utilised in all facets of this process

·          The Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) program is well managed, with indicators of good levels of compliance

·          Systems utilised for credentialing were well structured, and followed the Healthscope corporate group policy

Hospital wide quality initiatives demonstrated at survey included:

·          Establishment of a preadmission clinic

·          Establishment of a fully functioning rehabilitation unit, specialising in orthopaedic and restorative rehabilitation

·          Instigation of hospital wide disaster plan, in line with new legislation
