Accreditation
The Geelong Clinic is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au). Following our most recent accreditation survey on 25 May 2005, we were pleased to receive a four year Accreditation status with the following commendations:
- Excellent work by Consumer Consultant and the genuine support provided to the consultant by staff, doctors and consumers.
- Level of consumer involvement is impressive - there is a genuine commitment to ensuring consumers’ views are known, concerns addressed and ideas implemented where possible.
- Interest and involvement by staff in all aspects of quality improvement and their willingness to honestly assess and evaluate outcomes and ensure that improvements occur.
The Geelong Clinic strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:
- Review of Care/Discharge Plans to provide documentation to meet medico-legal and legislative requirements.
- Major study into outcomes of psychiatric care using HoNOS, DASS, MHQ14 and CGI measurement tools.
Please contact the General Manager if you have any questions about the accreditation or quality improvement program.
