Accreditation


The Geelong Clinic is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au).  Following our most recent accreditation survey on 7 July 2009, we were pleased to receive a four year Accreditation status with the following commendations:
 

  • Outstanding achievement in the organisations research program.

The Geelong Clinic was commended on its commitment to mental health research and application of findings to ensure internationsl best practice.  It was highlighted that The Geelong Clinic has a professional research unit headed by a well established professor of mental health who has a joing arrangement with Barwon Health, Geelong Hospital and Melbourne University.

The Geelong Clinic strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this.  Some of the key projects include:

  • Review of Care/Discharge Plans to provide documentation to meet medico-legal and legislative requirements.
  • Major study into outcomes of psychiatric care using HoNOS, DASS, MHQ14 and CGI measurement tools.
