Accreditation

Geelong Private Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care. 

Geelong Private Hospital received a full four-year accreditation in July 2007, gaining an EA (Excellence) in Evaluation of Patient Care, Record Management, Waste Management and Continuous Quality Improvement. The next scheduled ACHS Periodic Survey is due in August 2009. 

Geelong Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services.  We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:

  • Comprehensive falls reduction and management program utilising a multidisciplinary approach commencing during hospital stay and continuing in the client's home.
  • Systematic reviews of policy and procedure manuals to ensure we meet 'best practice' standards.
  • High Dependency Unit education program developed too ensure ongoing professional development and encourage retention of experienced staff.
