Accreditation

Knox Private Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures that underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care. Following our most recent accreditation survey in July 2009, the hospital was awarded:

  • Two (2) Outstanding Achievements (OA) for the Infection Control program and Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Wound Management program; and
  • Twelve (12) Excellent Achievements (EA) for Patient Assessment, Consent Process, Discharge management, Health Record accuracy and management, Correct Site Surgery, Quality and Risk management systems, Incidents, Complaints and Feedback management, Strategic and Operational Planning, Credentialing and Safety Management Systems.
As per the ACHS Organisation-wide Survey report July 2009, the surveyors noted that ‘it is apparent that staff have a strong commitment to a culture of quality and recognise the need for and participate in, the collection and analysis of data which is used to inform best practice.’

Our participation in the National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) Private Hospital Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Program during 2008 and 2009 has resulted in the hospital’s introduction of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Risk Assessment processes in accordance with Best Practice standards.
