Accreditation

The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au).  Following our most recent accreditation survey on 27-28th October 2004, we were pleased to receive the following commendations:

  • The Portering/Programming/Care Planning Project was commended for the significant improvements in both the scheduling of therapy sessions and by ensuring patients arrive for their appointed sessions on time.
  • The Executive were commended for a Work Place that had received no resignations from Nursing staff for the past two years.
  • Staff and Management were commended for the improvements made to the assessment of patients over the past two years resulting in better patient outcomes.
The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services.  We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:
  • To ensure all Policies and Procedures are evidence based and are linked to competencies where applicable.
  • Evaluation of the Pain Management Program and begin benchmarking the results across three Rehabilitation sites.
  • Occupational Therapy Pilot Program-Patient Meal Preparation Assessment and the Barbeque Group.
Please contact the General Manager if you have any questions about the accreditation or quality improvement program.
