Accreditation Status

Nepean Private Hospital is a 121-bed acute surgical/medical facility, with a day procedure unit and maternity services. The Hospital underwent Organisation Wide Review in 2004, and was given full 4-year accreditation status.

In July 2006, Nepean Private Hospital underwent Periodic Review, and we have maintained our full accreditation status. We are currently waiting for the full report to be made available by ACHS.

Commendations

Commendations from Periodic Review have not yet been received. Commendations from Organisation Wide Review 2004 included:

Use of Clinical Pathways
The education and professional development system
Front office staff were commended for their efforts in information management
The Maintenance, Security and Fire Safety Officer was commended on his efforts

Quality Improvement Projects

Nepean Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:

Development and implementation of a postnatal clinic
Improving patient flow by reducing time to theatre
Improving documentation in medical records

We have submitted an expression of interest to be included in the NSW TAG Acute Post Operative Pain Management Project, and are currently waiting for the results of the selection process.
