Accreditation

The National Capital Private Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council of Health Standards (www.achs.org.au) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures, which underpin our primary goal to provide the best quality of service and care.

The National Capital Private Hospital received a full four-year accreditation in April 2008, gaining an EA (Excellence) in Patient Assessment Systems, Quality Improvement, Risk Management Systems, Health Care Incident Systems of Care, Credentialling Processes and Safety Management Systems.

The next scheduled ACHA Organisational Wide Survey is due in April 2010.

The National Capital Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services.  We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this.  Some of the key projects include:

  • Implementation of strategies to reduce Venous Thromboembolism Events (VTE) and identify at risk patients
  • Falls education programs for identified high risk patients
  • Expansion of the rehabilitation services in the ACT as a result of community needs

Following a submission to NHMIC the National Capital Private Hospital is partaking in a National VTE audit for Private Hospitals throughout Australia to identify risk assessment and prevention strategies employed as part of a National Venous Thromboemlism Events (VTE) Prevention Program.

Please contact the General Manager if you have any questions about the accreditation or quality improvement program.
