Accreditation
Lady Davidson Private Hospital is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au). Following our most recent accreditation survey on 10th -12th May 2005 , we were pleased to receive the following commendations:
- Lady Davidson’s Executive were commended for being proactive in building relationships with key stakeholders and it was apparent that consumer involvement is valued and actively encouraged.
- The Infection Control program was commended for its good results and externally benchmarked audit program which has been used to drive improvement projects and demonstrate outcomes.
- Food Services were commended for achieving high standards in their audits and Food Safety inspections.
Lady Davidson Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality action plan to achieve this. Some of the key projects include:
- A multi-disciplinary team is collating all admission-related forms and designing a single, more generic admission form to streamline the process.
- To create an easy time efficient way of writing discharge summaries for patients and to employ standardised outcome measures for common conditions that can be compared at the beginning and end of therapy.
- Survey on the use of Warfarin. Warfarin is commonly used as an anticoagulant for the treatment/prevention of thromboembolism and is identified as a high-risk drug (Australian Council for Safety & Quality in Health Care). Good management of warfarin therapy is essential to quality patient care and the aim of the survey is to assess the current management of warfarin to determine if further education of clinical staff is required for optimal quality patient care.
Please contact the General Manager if you have any questions about the accreditation or quality improvement program.
