Accreditation
The Mount Hospital is a fully accredited member of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au) who work with us in establishing standards and procedures. This underpins our primary goal, which is to provide the highest standard of quality in service and care to our patients, and their families.
The Mount Hospital received a full four-year accreditation status in August 2009, gaining Extensive Achievement (EA) in the following areas:
- Infection Control
- Health service information to patients and the community
- Human resources planning
- Learning and development of staff
- Credentialling of doctors and other health professionals
The next scheduled ACHS Periodic Review survey is due in August 2011
Quality improvement projects currently underway at the Mount Hospital incude:
- Further development of our falls management program
- Development of our Rehabilitation unit
- Establishment of a Day Oncology unit
- Expansion of our clinical audit program to monitor patient safety
- Development of community feedback forums
- Refurbishment of our kitchen and catering department
- Introduction of urology services
