What makes The Victoria Clinic specialInpatient ServicesThe Victoria Clinic provides inpatient care to people with a psychiatric illness. The group program is designed over a three-week period, which runs on weekdays and rotates every 21 days. Patients may participate in the program at any time. Research Program - Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a potential new treatment for depression and other psychiatric disorders. It has gained increasing attention in recent years as research is progressively conducted to establish its role in treatment programs. There is an emerging consensus that TMS does have antidepressant activity and may play a useful role in the treatment of patients with depression. At The Victoria Clinic TMS is available under the supervision of Associate Professor Paul Fitzgerald as part of a series of clinical trials. Day ProgramThe General Day Program offers an environment of group therapy aimed at promoting recovery from mental illness within a community setting. Day Programs are offered as open groups where new patients can commence at any time. The General Day Program aims to provide supportive psychotherapy for individuals recently discharged from an acute care setting to independent living. The goal is to prevent recurrence or relapse of symptoms by raising awareness as well as to promote long term rehabilitation for those with ongoing mental health issues. For more information please click here Outreach ServicesThe Outreach Program provides specific therapeutic support to patients who need assistance to stay well and reach their potential. The objective of the Program is to assist patient recovery through treatment and rehabilitation in their home and own community and minimising disruption to their lives by reducing the length and frequency of hospital stays. Making a ReferralOur Intake Manager is available 24 hours, 7 days a week to arrange admission to one of our programs. A referral from a General Practitioner is required.
