Accreditation

Northpark Private Hospital is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (www.achs.org.au). Following our most recent survey on 10 – 11 October 2006 we were pleased to receive the following commendations:

• An Excellent Achievement (EA) for our Manual Handling management for the excellent results achieved at the Hospital and evidence of good risk management in this area.
• An Excellent Achievement (EA) for Health Information Management. This recognition was for the work done in monitoring, evaluation and improving the content of the patient record.
• Commendation for ‘The team of Registered Nurses providing training and support are enthusiastic and well qualified for their roles and it is evident that their input is both appreciated and effective’.

Northpark Private Hospital strives for continuous improvement in the quality of its services. We have developed and are continually reviewing our quality program to achieve this. Some of our main projects are:

• Refurbishment of the ward environment, improved safety and security interventions, and program enhancement for the Psychiatric Unit and Mother Baby Unit
• Medical case management role development to support the admission and discharge of our patients
• Enhancement of our consumer involvement program to gather ideas for potential improvements and support for the programs at the Hospital
