Our special birthing beds adapt to your chosen birthing position and each birthing room has on hand modern equipment to maximise safety for both you and your baby, if required. Parent Education Parenting education classes are lead by experienced midwives here at the hospital. During this time, you and your partner can learn together about labour, the birth and parenting and have an opportunity to visit the birthing rooms and get to know our staff. Comfort After the delivery of your baby, you can rest in the comfort of the large fully appointed rooms, each with ensuite bathroom, telephone, television and nurse call system. Our special care nursery is available for those babies requiring a little extra support after birthSo you can relax in our safe and comfortable environment and be assured that the care we provide for you and your baby is first class. NeurosurgeryA dedicated Neurosurgery ward and Intensive Care Unit support this speciality. Our theatre has a Brain Laboratory that ensures all Neurosurgeons have access to the latest technology. The neurosurgeons who use our facilities carry out procedures for both adults and paediatrics. OrthopaedicsA full range of orthopaedic services are available ranging from sports injuries to Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery. Our services are complimented by dedicated physiotherapists and referral networks to rehabilitation hospitals throughout Sydney and New South Wales. We also encourage our patients to attend a Pre-admission Clinic prior to their admission. PaediatricsWe offer paediatric patients a comprehensive range of services which includes day procedures and more complex surgery. We also have support through the Sydney Children’s Hospital with emergency response, play therapy and physiotherapy amongst other accessible services. Parents are encouraged to stay with their child at all times. Urology / General SurgeryBoth the urology and general surgery departments offer a full range of services with a particular focus on cancer prevention and treatment. We have a Clinical Nurse Consultant who is a Stomal Therapist available tio offer support and education to patients undergoing urological and general surgical procedures at the hospital. We have a Breast Cancer Nurse as part of the nursing team who assists patients having breast surgery.
