Visiting Hours

To accommodate family and friends, visiting hours extend from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 8pm daily.

After regular visiting hours, visitors must proceed to the specific ward the patient has been admitted to. If visitors are unsure what ward the patient is on, they should report to the floor indicated on Level 1 for after hours enquiries to find out where the patient is situated.

Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult when visiting the hospital.

Visitors may be required to follow certain procedures, depending on the condition of the patient. The nursing staff will provide specific instructions for visiting these patients.

Accommodation for Patients' Relatives

The accommodation needs of patients' relatives are supported with discounted rates at hotels located a short distance from the hospital.

Car Parking

On-site parking facilities are available in The Royal Melbourne Hospital car park which can be accessed from Royal Parade.

Transport

The hospital is located 1.7km from the CBD and is accessible via all modes of public transport  - trains, trams and buses. Regular bus services operate along Grattan Street and tram services operate along Flemington Road and Royal Parade. The nearest train station is situated at Melbourne Central. Reception is also able to book or call a Taxi for you if required.
