Melbourne Private Hospital is a 124-bed acute care private hospital co-located on the Parkville campus of Royal Melbourne Hospital. Melbourne Private Hospital offers services to the local community, rural referral networks, and other regional and suburban health services in Victoria, as well as to interstate and international patients.

Melbourne Private Hospital's clinical specialities complement those of our co-located partner and include cardiac services, advanced general surgery, neurosciences and neurosurgery, specialist medical services, and day procedure and day oncology. These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 6-bed neurosurgery intensive nursing unit, 4 operating theatres, 2 angiography suites, an endoscopy suite and a day chemotherapy unit.

The hospital is positioned to both optimise and benefit from the teaching and research experience of its co-located partners and medical specialists, ensuring the hospital is at the forefront of health care developments and service delivery.  We provide private facilities to over 350 accrediated consultants.  This volume of high calibre specialists enabling our patients to access exceptional clinical expertise.

Our referral base is vast, with over 20% of admissions originating from outside the Melbourne metropolitan area in Victoria.  Almost 5% of admissions originate from interstate and overseas.

The hospital is located 1.7km from the CBD and is accessible via all modes of public transport - trains, trams and buses.
