Healthscope Prostate Cancer ScreeningFor information or an appointment for prostate cancer screening, simply call our Nurse Coordinator on 1 800 NO WAIT (1 800 66 9248). According to the Cancer Council of Australia, prostate cancer is the second most common diagnosed cancer in Australian men and the second leading cause of cancer death. All men, regardless of whether they have a family history of prostate cancer, are urged to be checked early. Prostate cancer is a malignant enlargement of the prostate gland. The enlargement or tumour is a lump of tissue that occurs when some of the cells of the prostate grow abnormally. The two usual tests are the digital rectal examination (DRE) and the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test. General Practitioners and Urologists at Healthscope can provide you with a thorough examination and ensure that you receive best practice treatment. For more information or to make an appointment for a prostate cancer check, call the Nurse Coordinator on 1 800 NO WAIT (1 800 66 9248) or by email.
